Your first visit to Health Matters Chiropractic Centre will give you an opportunity to find out if chiropractic care can help you.
You will receive a thorough case history and examination to make sure that your condition can be helped through the natural healing of chiropractic adjustments.
On your initial visit you will first be asked to fill out a comprehensive health history form.
Our doctors will then provide a consultation consisting of a discussion of your present and past health history.
They will then conduct a thorough physical examination to help further identify your needs as a patient. Our doctors will review your findings in great detail and develop a proposed schedule of care including the frequency and duration of treatment. At this time you may also discuss any goals that you may have with respect to your overall health care and how our clinic services can assist you in attaining them. Patients are always encouraged to ask questions to ensure that they have a good understanding of their condition, treatment options, prognosis and overall health.
If our doctors identify a concern through the health history and examination process, they may propose an x-ray.
Alternatively, they may suggest that you consult your medical doctor for further investigation. Your needs as the patient are paramount.
Once you have been found to be a candidate for chiropractic, a treatment plan will be devised and individually tailored for you and your condition.
Treatment plans may include:
Spinal Manipulation, Ice/Heat, Myofascial Release & Deep Muscle Therapies, Laser Therapy, Acupuncture, Electric Muscle Stimulation, Ultrasound, Registered Massage Therapy, Trigger-Point Therapy, Stretching & Exercise Strengthening Plans, Core Stability Training Programs, Postural Correction Exercises, Nutritional Advice, Orthotics and/or Physiotherapy
Your First Massage Therapy Visit
On the first visit you will complete a confidential health history as part of your assessment.
This is important as our massage therapists need to know if you have any medical conditions or are taking any medications.
Our massage therapists will listen to your concerns; assess your individual needs as well as other factors that may be contributing to your injury (lifestyle, nutritional status, etc.). They will then develop a treatment plan with you to ensure you receive appropriate treatment that will help you return, as much as possible, to your normal activities. Your massage therapist will give you privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except for the area being worked on.
